Address Research Requests: Eligibility, Privacy, and Process-Serving Boundaries

Practice Tips January 20, 2026 7 min read By Reliant Process Solutions

A stale or incorrect service address does not automatically justify a person-search workflow. Address research must be treated as a separate, controlled process because the request, the information used, and the resulting location data can be sensitive and may be subject to legal, contractual, and vendor restrictions.

What Happens When an Address Appears Stale?

The client should first verify the address from its own authorized records and provide a corrected address when available. Reliant documents service attempts under the selected service package; we do not automatically search for another address or dispatch a server to a newly identified location.

What a Compliance Review Considers

A request may be considered only for an existing service matter. Before any research is authorized, Reliant must be able to confirm the requester category, a documented permissible purpose, required attestations and evidence, an approved review path, and an available compliant provider. Pro se requests require counsel review.

  • Eligibility: the request is tied to a legitimate, active service matter.
  • Permissible purpose: the intended use is documented and approved for the proposed data source.
  • Authorization: the required Reliant reviewer explicitly authorizes the request.
  • Privacy: subject information and any result remain outside public forms, URLs, analytics, logs, and ordinary operator lists.
  • Separate service decision: a result never authorizes a new service attempt by itself.

Availability, Timing, and Price

Address research is not automatic or guaranteed. It may be considered only for an existing service matter after eligibility, permissible-purpose, evidence, and compliance review. Availability, timing, price, data sources, and any next service step are confirmed separately. Do not submit sensitive subject data through public forms.

How to Request a Review Safely

You may indicate that you want Reliant to discuss an address research compliance review while placing a service order. Do not place dates of birth, Social Security numbers, personal identifiers, alternate addresses, or other sensitive subject data in public-form notes or email. If the request can proceed, Reliant will provide a private follow-up path and the required terms.

Important: Checking the review-request box does not authorize a search, create a charge, promise a result, or authorize service at another address.
